Ms. Copeland’s practice focuses exclusively on family law. Ms. Copeland was a director at Cooch and Taylor P.A. prior to forming Copeland Taylor, LLC. Ms. Copeland has successfully represented clients in the Family Court in all three counties and in the Delaware Supreme Court. She has experience representing individuals in a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, termination of alimony, enforcement of property division orders, custody and visitation, child support, guardianship, PFAs, grandparent visitation, termination of parental rights/adoption, and, substantiation of abuse. Ms. Copeland understands that the dynamics for each family are unique.
Ms. Copeland has represented individuals pro bono as an attorney guardian ad litem through the Office of the Child Advocate and as a volunteer with Delaware Volunteer Legal Services. Ms. Copeland was admitted to the Delaware Bar in 2009 after graduating from the Delaware Law School summa cum laude. Ms. Copeland clerked for the Family Court and also as a Wolcott law clerk for the Honorable Randy J. Holland of the Delaware Supreme Court during law school.
Prior to practicing family law, Ms. Copeland worked as a financial and strategic planning analyst and launched a start-up venture with her husband. Ms. Copeland is a Delaware native. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Melson-Arsht Inn of Court and the Board of Advisors for the Delaware Law School. She has volunteered and served on the board of directors of several local non-profit organizations, including the Delaware Nature Society, Fund for Women, and Girls, Inc. She is currently serving on the board of directors for the Brandywine Valley SPCA.
In 2019, Ms. Copeland was recognized as one of Delaware’s Top Lawyers for Family Law by Delaware Today magazine.
